Stover Animal Rescue, Inc.

Our Story

Stover Animal Rescue is a small rural 501(c)3 nonprofit No-Kill animal rescue located in Stover, Missouri. We are completely staffed by volunteers who operate our facility solely on funds raised by our thrift store, through adoptionsdonations, and sponsorships. Our organization was founded by lifelong animal advocate Carol Sue Weigel in 2005.

Stover Animal Rescue takes in abused, abandoned, and stray cats and dogs as we have space and the resources to care for them. We rehabilitate them and then try to find them the best match for a forever home. We also work with other licensed rescues and animal advocates to network animals to areas where they will have a higher potential for a great adoption.

As a No-Kill shelter, animals are only euthanized if a qualified veterinarian determines that a mental or physical illness makes a reasonable quality of life impossible.
